Queer Studies explores the social, historical, and cultural construction of gender and sexuality, and the diverse experiences of LGBTQ+ people. Students will examine how these experiences are shaped by race, class, disability, and other identity categories, with a focus on social equality

QUST 395/WMST 395 and QUST 495/WMST 495 may be used toward the minor with approval of the minor advisor.

Students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all courses specified as a requirement for the minor exclusive of lower-level courses and prerequisite courses and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses in the minor through courses offered by Old Dominion University. Completion of the undergraduate Queer Studies minor will fulfill the upper-division General Education requirements.
