Certificate Human Factors Certificate
The Undergraduate Certificate in Human Factors will introduce students to how psychology is applied to the design of technical systems (e.g., developing user-friendly interface displays). Students will be introduced to the ways humans think about and perceive their surroundings. Students will be educated in fundamental principles (i.e., predictability, consistency) from human factors and human-computer interaction research fields. Students will also learn to apply theory to the design of technology using a human-centered process across various application domains (e.g., transportation and cybersecurity). Graduates will be able to assist with the design or redesign of technology to improve the usability of digital systems for example, website pages or mobile application displays.

For completion of the certificate, students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all courses specified as a requirement for the certificate and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses required for the certificate through courses offered by Old Dominion University.
