The Department offers three minors in political science: 1) a general minor, 2) a minor in political geography, and (3) a minor in public law, Each requires a specified introductory course as a prerequisite and 12 hours of 300/400-level courses. For completion of a minor, a student must have a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all courses specified as a requirement for the minor exclusive of lower-level courses and prerequisite courses and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses in the minor requirement through courses offered by Old Dominion University. The requirements for each of these minors are listed below.
Requirements
POLS 100S, POLS 101S or POLS 102S is a prerequisite for the minor and is not included in the calculation of the grade point average for the minor. The minor has one required course and nine credit hours of 300/400-level political science and geography electives. The requirements are as follows.
